There was an abundance of informative content and networking
at Omeda’s OX3 event this past week. The key message seemed to be that Data+ Content
+ Analytics were all critical components needed for success in today’s B2B
media world.
Here are 5 of the implementable ideas I got from a variety
of industry speakers:
- To build audience this year, you need 3 key things: communication, a positive customer experience, and intelligence.
- Clean up your website—bad tags, forgotten forums, crap content, etc. Great point that we would never let a print product or novel be filled with garbage in the middle of it. Why do we allow it with our sites?
- Build on firmographic information you have on file, by appending personal or psychographic data of your users. This can open up new advertising options as well as new product development.
- Several speakers said that going deep in content in vertical markets is the strength for B2B today.
- Finally, what have you done with your unengaged email addresses recently? Put together a plan to try and re-engage people before suspending using any of their email addresses.
I definitely came away with a more expansive “to do” list than I expected and a bunch of new industry connections. And a bonus of fun times during the event.
