What do you #choosetochallenge? And why do I ask this today? It is the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day.  Me, I choose to challenge that women don’t belong in the technology sector.

Most of my career has been spent in media & technology.  Building databases, cleaning data, changing (hopefully simplifying) tech stacks, creating and building marketing automation journeys, and testing new tech platforms fill my day. I help customers learn more about their customers, better monetize their products, and set strategies on using new technologies.  Every day is different, challenging, and rewarding.

My 23 years running my own business and working with a large variety of clients, partnering with and outsourcing work to women, has shown me repeatedly why we need women in technology.  Women with different talents and experiences bring a variety of viewpoints, collaboration and listening skills.  Women have innovative ideas not being heard now. They will develop new products that they will champion and be used by others.

As an AAMP VP of Membership, I will continue to look for ways to encourage women to join, especially people new or re-joining the workforce. We spotlight men and women members in our enewsletter. If you have other suggestions how I can help promote women in tech, please feel free to reach out.

Ironically, when I saw the theme for this year’s IWD. I realize how much my last LinkedIn post is in sync with this theme. I will continue to #claimmyspace too.
