This post is 26 years in the making–I just wrapped up my 25th year being a business owner and consultant! I am so grateful for the the opportunities, the relationships, and the growth I have experienced during this time.
While I kept this fairly quiet during the milestone year, I realize now this is an accomplishment worth sharing. During several conversations over the last year, I have been humbled to learn that others think I am a brand and my company is a brand. [mind blown].
Thinking about this has made me realize the brand connection is true. In addition to my consulting projects and running a business, the board work, speaking engagements, social media interactions, collaborations, and podcast interviews over the years have helped to shape my personal brand.
It is an ever-evolving job as the work, expectations, and technology change. I have gained expertise in audience engagement and development, digital marketing, data enhancement, email privacy, business management, building and understanding customer databases, technology integration, product transformations, and knowing a surprising amount about USPS periodicals regulations.
A career highlight for me was completing Northwestern Kellogg’s Women Director Development Program in 2022. This gave me great insights and connection with women who are part of or aspire to be on corporate boards.
I want to sincerely thank my clients, mentors, colleagues who have recommended me and connected me with engaging people and projects, and the marketing and technology vendors who support my customers. And a special shout out–thank you to my family, who inspired and then encouraged me to keep doing this work.
I am excited to see what new and challenging opportunities lie ahead.
The journey continues. Cindy
